The 6 Best Hotels Opening in Summer 2022: Glamping in Utah, a Revived Hamptons Inn and More

Retro vintage trailers parked at Backstage at the Verb

Summer 2022 is being called the season of “revenge travel.” Essentially, everyone’s mad that their 2021 travel plans were more difficult at best or completely ruined at worst, and now, they’re booking trips to make up for lost time. As a result, a record breaking number of people are set to travel this summer, and chances are you’re one of them.
While you won’t have much choice but to follow the masses through TSA and down a jet bridge or two this season, you don’t have to join them at the usual hotel hotspots. You can, instead, be first in the door at one of these brand new hotels opening this summer that we’ve handpicked from the hundreds of options hitting the vacation market.

Backstage at The Verb, Boston

One of the most unique urban hotel offerings in recent memory, Backstage at The Verb is a collection of 10 custom-made, retro-inspired trailers positioned at the doorstep of Boston’s legendary Fenway Park. On the grounds of The Verb, a boutique hotel filled with rock-and-roll memorabilia, this hotel-within-a-hotel concept will share access to the property’s year-round heated pool and on-site restaurant. Inside the trailers, each with its own unique personality, you’ll find a king bed, sitting area, rainfall shower record player, espresso machine and music ephemera designed to look like a collection of treasure picked up while criss-crossing the country. Sneaking in just before the unofficial end of summer, Backstage at The Verb will open on September 1, four days before Labor Day – meaning you’ll still have about two or so months of decent weather to use your trailer’s outdoor sitting area.
